Why do you need us?

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a continuous survey method. The radar is either pulled or pushed along the ground.  GPR is non-destructive to the areas being surveyed and is the only geophysical survey technique. The benefit of the survey to the client is to minimize the damages to the utilities present at the site during the construction .
GPR, calibrated accurately, gives automatic depth information and can detect targets that other geophysical methods have difficulty with such as plastic pipes and targets at great depth.

METHODOLOGY
Our methodology is to work effectively with accuracy. We have trained professionals for using equipments and teams to execute the work from setting up the instruments to completion of work. We also take the precaution and safety measures while working in dense traffic areas. In each section a visual inspection is done to locate the manholes, junction box & storm water pipes, to get an accurate result in post processing work.

We work on one principle :  SMART (S=Specific, M=Measureable, A=Achievable, R=Realistic, T=Timely).

Our methodology is mainly divided into three parts that are pre-survey, field work and finally post processing part

    Pre Survey :


    • Site Inspection
    • Assessment of Traffic level in the area
    • Suitable time to work with safety
    • Whether the work can be done in night or not
    • Identifying of good reference points
    • Assessing the ideal time size for the work
    • Estimating the time in which the job may be completed.
    Field work

    • A grid is marked on the ground using chalk so as to not cause any permanent marks on public infrastructure.
    • A permanent benchmark (Eg–Streetlight pole, Road Divider, etc.) is used for marking a zero point,  which marks as the reference point for converting the exact location of utilities on ground to the CAD software. This serves as the basis of identifying the exact utility locations for the client as well.
    • GPS instrument is used to give the co-ordinate points to identify the zero point on grid, so that it is easy for a client to locate utilities at site.
    • We have a dedicated team for using MXL/MXT parallel to the GPR team. This team helps locate metallic pipes, power lines, radio lines, water pipes and other cables.
    • The MXL data and the visual data are marked on papers with grid pattern printed, so that this data can be integrated with GPR data during post-processing.
    • We take necessary precaution and safety measures like torch to guide the traffic, helmet with flash light, cones and jackets while working.
    Post processing work

    • After completing the onsite work, we transfer the raw files into the GRED software. Our professionals start marking the pipes on the basis of visual data, GPR data and MXL data.
    • Detection and Mapping of Underground non metallic and metallic cables & pipe utilities including PVC, Clay pipes, fiber optic cables, power cables, armored telecom signaling cables etc. by using non destructive Technique and Evaluation methods.
    • As we start the process work of marking the utilities, we always refer the marked grid papers for reference which we have used onsite, so that we can crosscheck and differentiate between metallic and non-metallic pipes. We use different colors for different pipes so as to identify and differentiate. 
    • The GRED software is used to mark the utilities. After marking the utilities, we create a 3D image in the same software, which gives a proper visualisation  of the utilities and also helps us to remove the intersection of the utilities.
    • The GRED 3D CAD is connected to a CAD software through Windows Microsoft Access database. This allows automatic radar data transfer from GRED 3D CAD to CAD and vice versa. The final result is a three dimensional geo referenced map of the radar data in CAD environment.

Underground Utility Survey

Utility Surveys & Mapping : Our most comprehensive service involves the 3D mapping of all utilities using both electromagnetic and GPR detection. We differentiate all metal pipes, Non-metallic pipes, electricity cables, telecom and fiber optic cables. Survey data is presented to the client as an individually layered CAD file, as a colour coded plan and as a written report.
 

Topographical surveys

 
Topographical surveys give an exact representation of an area of land in a planimetric view and are primarily used by Planners, Architects and Designers. Using the very latest in Leica GPS and robotic surveying equipment Pulse Mapping can provide dimensionally accurate topographic survey plans with detail of all level information. Our topographical surveys accurately record all buildings, roads, footpaths, change of surfaces and other 'hard features' that make up your required survey area.
 

Land Surveys

Land Surveys provide a detailed picture of an area of land. All features are shown to a level of detail and scale appropriate to the individual project. Surveys can be related to the OSGB36 datum, generally by the use of GPS. Each surveyed point is positioned in three dimensions, allowing drawings to be shown with spot levels and contours.

GPS Surveys

Global Positioning System (GPS) surveying is the most advanced positioning and data recording technology available to the Land Surveyor today. Using a minimum of four available satellites and an RTK correction service provides a sub-centimeter accurate horizontal and vertical survey.

3D laser scan

Ultra-high speed scanners (up to 1 million points/second) are known for their ultra-fast scan speeds and often higher level of detail. To this, the break-through, compact Leica ScanStation P20 also brings unprecedented data quality at range (120m, max), plus outstanding environmental capabilities, survey-grade tilt compensation, and an industry first "Check & Adjust" capability.
 

GIS

 

A GIS is a computer system capable of capturing, storing, analyzing, and displaying geographically referenced information; that is data identified according to location.

The power of a GIS comes from the ability to relate different information in a spatial context and to reach a conclusion about this relationship. When rainfall information is collected, it is important to know where the rainfall is located. This is done by using a location reference system, such as longitude and latitude, and perhaps elevation. Comparing the rainfall information with other information, such as the location of marshes across the landscape, may show that certain marshes receive little rainfall. A GIS, therefore, can reveal important new information that leads to better decision-making.
